The Kiwanis Club of Abingdon began over 80 years ago. To this day, they continue to support projects all over the community. They are a very active part of the Abingdon community and throughout Washington County. The Kiwanis Club hosts 3 big fundraisers every year, Plum Alley Day, a golf tournament, and the Christmas parade. These fundraisers bring in thousands of dollars annually to help the community, specifically the children.

Plum Alley Day is the largest of the Kiwanis Club's fundraisers. They expect, on average, 5,000 people on Plum Alley this Saturday, May 25th! The festival runs from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday only.

Nestled on the historic side alley between Main Street and Valley Street is Plum Alley. The 120 booths and vendors will be set up between Cummings Street and Court Street. There will be no through traffic allowed on Pecan, Church, and College Street after 8 am as they turn the 4-block area into a safe pedestrian-only zone.
